Google Mobile update is happening April 21st , if your website design architecture is not already “mobile friendly” and optimised to display and function properly on mobile / tablet devices then Google will penalise your site in the search results – your website could drop in the rankings!
Google has announced that on April 21, 2015, Google’s mobile ranking factors will not only label your site as mobile-friendly, but will also use that to determine if your site should rank higher in the search results. Google said this algorithmic change will have a “significant impact” in the mobile search results, impacting all languages worldwide.
Google’s own Zineb Ait Bahajji is quoted as saying at SMX Munich the upcoming mobile-friendly algorithm will impact more sites than their Panda or Penguin algorithms.
The good news is that as soon as you update your website to become “mobile friendly” then Google will remove the penalty almost immediately. The bad news if you fail to act then the penalty will remain. Sooner or later you will have to act if your business depends on Google search results to bring you customers.
